The Western Propeller Zero Pitch Latching System, as installed on the McCauley propeller model 3GFR34C703, employs an internal latch that holds the blades at zero pitch during engine start-up and eliminates the transitional period when the blades move from the feather position into the beta range. This system enhances aircraft safety performance by providing pilots with increased control of both float- and ski- equipped Caravans during start-up.

Western Propeller is approved by Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, and ANAC Brazilian to supply and install a Zero Pitch Latching System to the Cessna 208, A,B "Caravan".
