Zero Pitch Latching System

The Western Propeller Group of Companies is pleased to announce that it has received both Transport Canada and FAA approvals to apply and install a Zero Pitch Latching System to the Cessna 208,A,B "Caravan".

Cessna CaravanThe Western Propeller Zero Pitch Latching System, as installed on the McCauley propeller model 3GFR34C703, employs an internal latch which will hold the blades at zero pitch during engine start-up, thus eliminating the transitional period when the blades move from the feather position into the beta range. This feature provides the pilot increased control of both float and ski equipped Caravans during start-up, enhancing the safety performance of this aircraft.

Since receiving the approvals in October 1996, over 30 aircraft around the world have been fitted with this modification. Many of these were completed in conjunction with float installations by Wipaire, Inc. , in Minnesota, USA.

For more information on how your aircraft can be equipped with this beneficial system too, please contact one of our Locations, E-mail us, or contact your local Cessna Caravan Aircraft Dealer.
